Okay Guys have read all the stuff about pro Ohio State and the Service Plays, some on Ohio State...Game of Year Winner and the bullshit and others on Florida State as underdog of the year. All the hype so I will tell you my thinking on the game and my thouight process. You can all then look to make your own sound decision.
FLORIDA +7 XXXXXXXXX
UNDER 47
For over a month now we have heard all about the "what ifs",
"should haves, could haves, would haves and how Florida has no business being here. Well, bottom line in my opinion they DO belong here and will work extra hard with incentive to prove it tonight. Coming into the season Florida was predicted as the National Champion. In fact, I love them even more because the public isn't even giving them a chance. Do we believe the SEC is
the best conference in football, I certainly do. I liked USC when the public was on Michigan and we saw USC's stomping Michigan, NOT a fluke.
Now, Ohio State only played one team with a winning record on the road and at one stretch played 7 consecutive games against teams with losing records, 7 in a row. Meanwhile, Florida is
battle-tested with 10 of their opponents BOWL teams. Florida at one stretch they played Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and
Georgia in that order. True, they lost to Auburn but the Tigers
caught the Gators at the perfect time, at home and with Florida coming off a huge home win over LSU and with another important home game following with Georgia!
Troy Smith won the Heisman. Wow. Now, Leak completed almost 63% of his passes and for more yards than Smith and against the best defenses in the nation. Okay, Ohio State is good, but theyhey have not seen team speed like this the entire season. I believe this match up is a mirror image of the USC-Michigan game and I am expecting the same resuly. Coming into the
season Ohio State's weakness was supposed to be their defense but it appeared that wasn't the case. Or did their weak schedule make them look much better than they really are?
We will find out tonight.
These are the games that the Service Plays and Vegas gets rich off of and the media keeps swaying more and more of the public to the Buckeyes. Not me.
Some statistics:
Bowl dogs are 9-2 SU and a PERFECT 11-0 ATS since 1992 when coming off a conference championship. Additionally, certain SEC bowl dogs of more than 4 points are 9-1 SU and a PERFECT 10-0 ATS since 1998, including Kentucky this year. Meanwhile, certain bowl faves of less than 11 points are a terrible 3-11 SU and a PERFECT 0-14 ATS when coming off 35 or more days rest. FLORIDA WINS OUTRIGHT...and cover the spread handily.
As always good luck to all, I hope my input help you make a wise decision either way you go.
